I just finished Warcraft III (an oldie I know, but my had to upgrade my comp before I finished it as the old one couldn't cope with the last level) and it's got a weird ending. There's a big outtakes section after the ending movie.

So me hearties, yo ho (and really bad eggs), what has your old chum Andy been up to lately? I picked up the keys to the new place on Monday so we officially have a new house! We moved some stuff over on the day, met up with the vendor who sold us a load of furniture and even left us a bottle of Cava to welcome us in, which was nice considering we're ultimately just some people buying stuff off him. The major moveage will be over the weekend, at which point we'll be able to relax with absolutely no money left for the goings on holiday. And we don't actually have a bed of our own yet.

Work is very stressful at the minute. We "tape out" in a couple of months, which means that it's going to get progressively more manic up until then: it's just taken one giant leap for manickind. We've got to make sure we get a set amount done every week and given that little crises keep coming up the goals inevitably pushed back until the crisis is solved. So arrrgh, angst, etc. I don't think it'd be so bad were I not having to cope with the moving now and being a best man in 1½ months. Ever watch that Anne Widdicombe to the rescue programme? There was one where some bloke who owned a hair salon was trying to stop his employees from smoking in the salon itself, their excuse was that they had to smoke because working is a hair salon is such a stressful job. For fuck's sake.... like you have deadlines to meet, hair quotas to fill or even unpaid overtime to worry about.

In other news, hoorah! for the Ashes, hoorah! for the new telly we got in the canteen to watch the last day on and hoorah! for Liverpool playing a really entertaining match on Tuesday which they actually, like, won and everything. Boo at Frank Lampard for being the most totally shit, overrated player ever and boo at Erikson for always selecting the fucker despite the fact that he blatantly is no good at international level and screws up everyone else's game. And I want a Nintendo DS. And I must remember to wear rubber gloves when cutting up chillies, because my fingers still sting from yesterday.

Huzzah for home ownerage! ^_^ Nice touch with the welcome plonk, I got a dead butterfly and a new lightbulb when I moved in. And I was grateful :P
Will you succomb to the Ikea? Hmm? Take some Valium beforehand and avoid the Swedish meatballs (they put crack in them so people come back purely for the 'balls). Good luck with the move, I found the whole thing terribly painful and worriesome, but it's worth having your own place like.

(gawd I sound like my mum, shoot me please)

I'm waiting for the exciting flavours of DS to come out, sadly only pink and blue on the horizon though. Still, I'mma that poor, by the time I can afford it, it'll be out in spanking black with Link-with-tattoos-and-beer decals on the top. Sweet!

Half of the furniture we've acquired is Ikea stuff so we're in the zone already. We've got a mattress on order but no frame for it yet. Some of those Ikea frames do look tempting, but then there's the joy of or current "just bought a deposit, stamp duty, conveyancing fees and two flights to New Zealand" financial situation to deter us, so we'll probably make do with just a mattress on the floor for now.

Stamp duty? :( bad luck geezer. The 120K rule came in a day before I signed the contract, which was nice. But then I bought in a scummy area, so it was cheap. Ish.

Hurrah for Ikea! I hate it and love it with equal measure. I shall resist interrogating you on your Malm or Hensvik house couture, as that is a sin punishable by middle class geriatrics running one over with their electric buggies.
